Places to Dine Outdoors in Spring

Places to Dine Outdoors in the Spring

Spring is here and although many of you have been doing the Covid-safe thing, braving the cold and dining outdoors all winter, others have stayed clear of indoor dining and restaurants altogether. For those celebrating the warmer weather and a return to restaurants that offer amazing food in outdoor spaces, here are Seek Curator Nicholas’ top outdoor dining spots right now. Please call ahead to make sure nothing has changed in the few hours since we wrote this blog!

1. Pastis

52 Gansevoort St, New York, NY 10014

Pastis - Seek App

Located in Meatpacking District, Pastis has become sort of an iconic place thanks to the earlier days of Sex and the City. The show was filmed at least twice in the restaurant. A great place for brunch and to be “seen”, you can sit inside or out along the sidewalk. The menu is mostly French food, and patrons agree that you feel like you are in a French bistro when you sit inside, which is why our Seek Curator, Nicholas says Pastis has, “great food and amazing ambiance”. We should all get an opportunity to feel like Carrie Bradshaw at least once.

2. Carbone

181 Thompson St, New York, NY 10012

Carbone - Seek App

One of the city’s hottest Italian restaurants, everything here is top of the line, boasting impeccable service and out of this world food. The outdoor dining is year-round during covid but that doesn’t mean it’s still not almost impossible to get a reservation. Reservations go up online 30 days beforehand, so make sure you plan ahead. If you are lucky enough to snag a res, make sure to keep your eyes peeled, as it is rumored that quite a few celebs frequent Carbone.

3. The Smith

1150 Broadway (as well as three other locations in NYC)

The Smith - Seek App

Sometimes a rec on our app is so thorough and well thought out that we simply need to quote the curator as is. This is the case for Nick’s rec for The Smith. “I love The Smith. They have an AMAZING burger, but truly all of the food is incredible. It’s pretty well known among locals. The best part is the service is incredible at every location. My go-to menu options are either the burger or the salmon with mashed potatoes, I couldn’t speak more highly about either one. Pro tip: the one in Lincoln Center is a great spot to go before or after a show at the met opera!”

Outdoor dining is year-round and offered at all three locations (please call the restaurant to confirm before heading out).

We know there are TONS more places that are offering outdoor dining. Send us your recs!
