Park West Gallery NYC

411 W Broadway, New York, NY 10012

Rec by: @nyc_forfree

As one of the newest art galleries in SoHo, Park West Gallery wholeheartedly believes in the democratization of art. The two-story space holds some of the most historically and culturally significant pieces of art in the world, many of which you’d expect only to find in world-renowned art museums such as the Met or the Tate Modern. However, this art gallery is free and open to the public and allows for an intimate yet casual art experience!

Pier 57

25 11th Ave, New York, NY 10011

Rec by: @nyc_forfree

Pier 57 is a relatively new public rooftop park with amazing views of the Hudson River and Lower Manhattan. It’s a beautiful open space with lots of greenery, bench seating, and live music and it’s totally free to the public. In Spring 2023, they are opening a new food market curated by the James Beard Foundation.

Winemak’Her Bar

492 5th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11215

Rec by: @nyc_forfree

This women-owned, French wine bar exclusively features wines made by women winemakers. The vibes here are casual, kitschy, and distinctly French with large French movie posters and vintage aperitif advertisements hung on the exposed brick walls. They host free wine tastings on Tuesdays from 6-7 pm and they also have free live music on Saturday nights!
