As you may know, Seek is a social app that lets users find trusted recommendations from local, like-minded curators. We officially launched in the New York City Tri-state area last week and are already dishing out recs on the best places to get your sweet on.
Here are some of the best suggestions, from a few of our amazing founding curators:
Rec #1 – Mia’s Brooklyn Bakery
139 Smith St, Brooklyn
Rec by Kat and Dennis (@cornandcactus)

According to their website, Mia’s was born from a single convo:
“One evening, two families were out having dinner and began a conversation about their love of desserts. Toward’s the end of dinner, over a fantastic baklava, they talked about how hard it was to find exceptional classic desserts anymore, not extravagant over-the-top creations, but the ones with perfected traditions and rituals.”
Kat reviewed that Mia’s dessert portions are generous and the tarts are not overly sweet. With two locations, there is no excuse to not get to one ASAP.
Rec #2 – Kitsby Dessert Bar
186 Grand St, Brooklyn
Rec by Mitzie Louis (@Frencht0asty)

There is truly something for everyone at Kitsby Dessert Bar. From matcha cakes to lava cakes to cookies, every photo on their social media will make you drool, and if you are not a local Brooklynite, they have a “do it yourself” shop online.
Mitzie said,“My friend and I almost got everything on the menu but we stuck with the lava cakes and they were so good. My friend devoured it and I pretty much licked my plate CLEAN.”
Rec #3 – Martha’s Country Bakery
263 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn
Rec by Tiffany del Valle (@CurlyTiff)

Needless to say this is not your mother’s bakery. This bakery has wonderful coffee drinks and baked goodies. You absolutely cannot go wrong with a trip to Martha’s.
Tiffany told Seek that she loves their Nutella hot chocolate, especially on a cold New York City day.
